With Type XXI, Germany had the most advanced submarine of the world at the time in early 1945. Due to numerous technical innovations, it could drive unlimited under water because the diesel engines sucked in the required fresh air through a special snorkel. The line shape designed for underwater trips and a three -time battery capacity showed the sensational underwater speed of 17 knots. Other innovations were low -noise electric motors for sneaking, highly sensitive location devices and 2 cm anti -flak -protecting towers. The model gives an authentic insight into this groundbreaking submarine thanks to the separated left-west outer wall. Many rooms are reproduced in detail, including the diesel and electric motors. Insights into the command center and team living rooms give life under water. The decal has interior details and identifiers for U2540, which was put into service on February 24, 1945. After a short training trip, U2540 was sunk by the crew in the Flensburg Fjord on May 4, 1945. In 1957, the Federal Navy served as a test boat Wilhelm Bauer. Today U2540 can be viewed as a museum boat.

For beginners, Revell models with Skill level 1 or 2. Level 1 include simple plug-in kits without glue, while Level 2 requires basic adhesive work. These models have fewer components (usually 20-50 parts) and simple color schemes. Experienced model builders should only start from level 3, since detailed painting and precise adhesive work are already required here.
The packaging colors show basic painting for quick results. However, the building instructions contain detailed color recommendations for authentic, true -to -scale replicas. Professional model builders use the extended color palette of the instructions for more realistic results. This enables simple projects as well as experts to replicate detail.
Revell publishes new models and new editions of classic kits every month. Around 60-80 new products appear every year, including aircraft, ships, cars and RC models. The list of novelties is updated at the beginning of the month. Collectors and enthusiasts should regularly check the Revell web shop, since limited editions are often quickly sold out.
