The keel of the Titanic was laid on March 31, 1909 at the Northern Irish shipyard Harland & Wolff. The steamer was equipped with the highest degree of elegance and luxury in order to be used in the prestigious transatlantic liner service of the White Star Line. Two years later, on May 31, 1911, the Titanic was launched. With a length of 269.04 m, a width of 28.19 m and a tonnage of 46,329 GRT, she was the largest ship in the world in 1912. Captain Edward John Smith transferred from the sister ship Olympic to the Titanic especially for the maiden voyage. She set sail from Southampton on Wednesday, April 10, 1912. The stops at Cherbourg (France) and Queenstown (Ireland) were on the way to New York (USA). The crossing went smoothly until the lookout bell sounded at around 23:40 (shipboard time) on Sunday (14.04.1912) due to numerous iceberg warnings. The ship struck the iceberg on the starboard side and sank into the icy waters of the Atlantic after two hours and forty minutes. Only 712 people survived the disaster.

The most common questions

For beginners, Revell models with Skill level 1 or 2. Level 1 include simple plug-in kits without glue, while Level 2 requires basic adhesive work. These models have fewer components (usually 20-50 parts) and simple color schemes. Experienced model builders should only start from level 3, since detailed painting and precise adhesive work are already required here.

The packaging colors show basic painting for quick results. However, the building instructions contain detailed color recommendations for authentic, true -to -scale replicas. Professional model builders use the extended color palette of the instructions for more realistic results. This enables simple projects as well as experts to replicate detail.

Revell publishes new models and new editions of classic kits every month. Around 60-80 new products appear every year, including aircraft, ships, cars and RC models. The list of novelties is updated at the beginning of the month. Collectors and enthusiasts should regularly check the Revell web shop, since limited editions are often quickly sold out.

Revell invests significantly in product development, precise injection molds and detailed building instructions. Each model goes through extensive design processes, tool construction and quality control according to EN 71.5 standard. The higher costs result from licensed original templates, multilingual instructions and the use of high -quality plastics that enable precise details.

You can get spare parts for Revell models from official customer service or authorized specialist dealers. Many parts can be ordered individually, with an exact kit number required. Alternatively, specialized model building communities offer exchange exchanges. In older, no longer produced models, 3D printing services or aftermarket manufacturers often help.

The basic equipment includes plastic adhesive, side cutters, files, basic colors (black, white, gray) and brush of different sizes. Primers, clear coat and detailed brushes are recommended for advanced projects. A cutting mat set and good lighting significantly improve the quality of work. Budget beginners can start well with around 50-80 euros.

Revell-RC models are differentiated according to age groups. Ready-to-run models are suitable from 8 years, while kit-RC models require experience in model making. Adults benefit from expandable systems and tuning options. The skill level identification helps with the selection-RC beginners should start with level 1-2, even as adults.

The Revell range comprises over 400 active models, which for small retailers is in terms of warehouse technology and financially. Specialist dealers mostly focus on popular categories or regional preferences. The official Revell web shop offers the full range, while local dealers often allow special orders. Remaining stocks of older models can often be found in specialized model building shops.

We accept product suggestions using the contact form of the website. Successful proposals take into account market potential, licensability and technical feasibility. Keep in mind that the development of new models takes 12-24 months. Detailed suggestions with reference material have higher chances of success, but not all ideas can be realized due to the high volume.

All Revell products correspond to the European toy standard and are regularly checked for pollutants. Safety instructions in the building instructions are mandatory and particularly affect adhesives and colors. Models under Skill level 3 are designed for children from 10 years, higher levels require supervision or are only recommended from the age of 14. The CE marking confirms conformity.
