Revell model cars - your entry into the world of automobile model making

Why Revell model cars are the right choice

Revell model cars have stood for the highest quality in model making for decades. The kits are characterized by precisely shaped plastic parts that enable an authentic replica of real vehicles. It doesn't matter whether you are a beginner or an experienced model builder - the different levels of difficulty offer the right project for everyone.

What types of model cars are there?

The range includes different vehicle categories: classic sports cars, modern super sports cars, racing vehicles, vintage cars and everyday vehicles. Each kit is available in different scales, with 1:24 and 1:25 being among the most popular. These sizes offer the optimal balance between detail and manageability.

Who are Revell model cars suitable for?

Model cars appeal to children aged 10 and over as well as adult collectors. Beginner kits with few parts and simple assembly make it easy to get started. Advanced models offer detailed engine replicas, moving parts and elaborate interiors for demanding projects.

What makes the building so fascinating?

Model making trains patience, precision and craftsmanship. As you assemble them, you will learn how real vehicles work and develop an understanding of technology and design. The finished model becomes a proud trophy that reflects your time and care.

Tips for successful construction

Start with simple models and work your way up to more complex kits. High-quality tools and suitable colors are essential for professional results. Take your time for each step - model building is relaxation, not racing.

The most frequently asked questions

For beginners, Revell models with skill level 1 or 2 are recommended. Level 1 includes simple plug-in kits without glue, while level 2 requires basic gluing work. These models have fewer components (usually 20-50 parts) and simple color schemes. Experienced model makers should only start at level 3, as this already requires detailed painting and precise gluing work.

The packaging colors show a basic painting for quick results. However, the construction instructions contain detailed color recommendations for authentic, true-to-scale replicas. Professional model makers use the instructions' extended color palette for more realistic results. This enables both beginners to create simple projects and experts to create detailed replicas.

Revell releases new models and new editions of classic kits every month. Around 60-80 new products are released every year, including airplanes, ships, cars and RC models. The list of new products is updated at the beginning of each month. Collectors and enthusiasts should check the Revell webshop regularly, as limited editions often sell out quickly.

Revell invests significantly in product development, precise injection molds and detailed construction instructions. Each model goes through extensive design processes, tool making and quality control according to the EN 71.5 standard. The higher costs result from licensed original artwork, multilingual instructions and the use of high-quality plastics that enable precise details.

You can obtain spare parts for Revell models from official customer service or authorized dealers. Many parts can be reordered individually, although an exact kit number is required. Alternatively, specialized model building communities offer exchanges. For older, no longer produced models, 3D printing services or aftermarket manufacturers can often help.

The basic equipment includes plastic glue, side cutters, files, basic paints (black, white, gray) and brushes of various sizes. Primer, clear coat and detail brushes are recommended for advanced projects. A cutting mat set and good lighting significantly improve the quality of work. Budget beginners can start well with around 50-80 euros.

Revell RC models are differentiated according to age groups. Ready-to-run models are suitable for ages 8 and up, while kit RC models require experience in model building. Adults benefit from expandable systems and tuning options. The skill level marking helps with selection - RC beginners should start with levels 1-2, even as adults.

The Revell range includes over 400 active models, which is challenging for small retailers in terms of inventory and finances. Specialist retailers tend to focus on popular categories or regional preferences. The official Revell web shop offers the full range, while local dealers often allow special orders. Remaining stocks of older models can often be found in specialized model making shops.

We accept product suggestions via the contact form on the website. Successful proposals take into account market potential, licensability and technical feasibility. Keep in mind that developing new models takes 12-24 months. Detailed suggestions with reference material have a higher chance of success, but due to the high volume, not all ideas can be implemented.

All Revell products comply with the European toy standard and are regularly tested for harmful substances. Safety instructions in the construction instructions are mandatory and particularly concern adhesives and paints. Models below skill level 3 are designed for children aged 10 and over, higher levels require supervision or are only recommended for children aged 14 and over. The CE marking confirms conformity.
