McLaren MCL39 Click System: The title contender for your shelf

Formula 1 is faster, more exciting and more colorful than ever - and McLaren is at the front in papaya orange! After a fantastic 2024 season in which the team secured the constructors' title and Lando Norris became runner-up in the world championship, the racing team is reaching for the crown in 2025 with the brand new MCL39. With this kit in an impressive 1:20 scale, you can bring the latest racing technology straight to your home. The best thing about it: Thanks to the innovative “Click System” you don’t need any glue or paint to achieve a perfect result.

Why this kit is pole position suspect

  • Success guaranteed: Thanks to the Revell Click System, the components are simply plugged together in a stable manner. No gluing necessary – ideal for beginners aged 10 and over.
  • Instant optics: The parts are already made in multiple colors. Many details are already printed or hand-painted, so there is no need for additional painting.
  • Large scale: In 1:20 (25.6 cm length) the complex aerodynamic shapes of the modern F1 car are particularly effective.
  • Completely newly developed: As a "new tool", this kit corresponds to the very latest in mold making technology for maximum accuracy of fit.
  • Freedom of choice: Decide for yourself whether you want to decorate Lando Norris or Oscar Piastri's car - matching stickers and decals are included.

Building the MCL39 is the perfect introduction to model building. The 160 pieces are designed to fit together intuitively. While experienced model makers can use the included water decals to add the finishing touches, beginners will enjoy the practical self-adhesive stickers. The result is a robust and detailed model that impressively underlines McLaren's ambitions for first place in the 2025 season.

The most frequently asked questions

For beginners, Revell models with skill level 1 or 2 are recommended. Level 1 includes simple plug-in kits without glue, while level 2 requires basic gluing work. These models have fewer components (usually 20-50 parts) and simple color schemes. Experienced model makers should only start at level 3, as this already requires detailed painting and precise gluing work.

The packaging colors show a basic painting for quick results. However, the construction instructions contain detailed color recommendations for authentic, true-to-scale replicas. Professional model makers use the instructions' extended color palette for more realistic results. This enables both beginners to create simple projects and experts to create detailed replicas.

Revell releases new models and new editions of classic kits every month. Around 60-80 new products are released every year, including airplanes, ships, cars and RC models. The list of new products is updated at the beginning of each month. Collectors and enthusiasts should check the Revell webshop regularly, as limited editions often sell out quickly.

Revell invests significantly in product development, precise injection molds and detailed construction instructions. Each model goes through extensive design processes, tool making and quality control according to the EN 71.5 standard. The higher costs result from licensed original artwork, multilingual instructions and the use of high-quality plastics that enable precise details.

You can obtain spare parts for Revell models from official customer service or authorized dealers. Many parts can be reordered individually, although an exact kit number is required. Alternatively, specialized model building communities offer exchanges. For older, no longer produced models, 3D printing services or aftermarket manufacturers can often help.

The basic equipment includes plastic glue, side cutters, files, basic paints (black, white, gray) and brushes of various sizes. Primer, clear coat and detail brushes are recommended for advanced projects. A cutting mat set and good lighting significantly improve the quality of work. Budget beginners can start well with around 50-80 euros.

Revell RC models are differentiated according to age groups. Ready-to-run models are suitable for ages 8 and up, while kit RC models require experience in model building. Adults benefit from expandable systems and tuning options. The skill level marking helps with selection - RC beginners should start with levels 1-2, even as adults.

The Revell range includes over 400 active models, which is challenging for small retailers in terms of inventory and finances. Specialist retailers tend to focus on popular categories or regional preferences. The official Revell web shop offers the full range, while local dealers often allow special orders. Remaining stocks of older models can often be found in specialized model making shops.

We accept product suggestions via the contact form on the website. Successful proposals take into account market potential, licensability and technical feasibility. Keep in mind that developing new models takes 12-24 months. Detailed suggestions with reference material have a higher chance of success, but due to the high volume, not all ideas can be implemented.

All Revell products comply with the European toy standard and are regularly tested for harmful substances. Safety instructions in the construction instructions are mandatory and particularly concern adhesives and paints. Models below skill level 3 are designed for children aged 10 and over, higher levels require supervision or are only recommended for children aged 14 and over. The CE marking confirms conformity.
