RC Flying Spinner Flying ball with LED

The RC Flying Spinner combines the dynamics of a mini drone with the easy handling of a throwing top. You start the aircraft with a short rotation of your hand. Thanks to the integrated gyroscope sensor, the model stabilizes itself in the air. They use different throwing angles to trigger straight flights or the classic boomerang effect.

How the RC Flying Spinner works

The aircraft is based on an internal rotor that is driven by a lightweight electric motor. To start the spinner, turn the device on using the slide switch and rotate the outer basket briefly. The motor reacts immediately and keeps the speed constant. You determine the trajectory solely via the release angle and the force used when releasing:

  • Boomerang flight: If you tilt the device about 30 degrees backwards, the spinner returns directly to your hand after an arc.
  • Straight trip: When tilted forward by 30 degrees, the model glides in a straight line a fellow player.
  • Hover: If you hold the spinner horizontally, it will remain in place above your palm for a short time.

Safety and construction

The outer casing is made of flexible polypropylene (PP). This closed grid structure completely encloses the rotating rotor blades, preventing injuries to fingers or damage to furniture. If the device hits an obstacle or falls to the ground, the flexible plastic absorbs the impact. The motor switches off automatically in the event of a blockage or after a fall.

Integrated RGB LED light strips illuminate the missile during operation. Due to the rapid rotation, the individual light points merge into bright color bands, which means that the flight path can be precisely tracked even in darkened rooms.

Target group and areas of application

The spinner is suitable for children aged six and over as well as for adults who are looking for an uncomplicated flying toy for breaks or leisure time. No previous knowledge of model flying is required as the stabilization is controlled entirely via the internal electronics. You can use the model in indoor spaces such as living rooms or offices. When there is no wind, the spinner can also be thrown on the lawn in the garden or in open spaces.

Frequently asked questions about RC Flying Spinner Flying ball with LED

How is the RC Flying Spinner charged?

You connect the included USB cable to the charging port on the bottom of the device and a USB power source such as a PC, power bank or power adapter. A small red control LED shows the charging process. Once the battery is fully charged after about 25 minutes, the light goes out.

Can the toy damage furniture or walls?

The spherical cage is made of soft, pliable plastic. In the event of collisions, the material springs back so that there are no scratches on walls or pressure marks on furniture. Because of its low weight of just under 27 grams, the force of the impact is not enough to knock over furnishings.

How do you stop the missile safely?

You simply grab the ball out of the air with the flat of your hand or with your fingers. Touching the housing reduces the rotation speed and the motor shuts down automatically. Alternatively, you can drop the spinner to the ground and the drive will stop after contact.

Is a remote control required for operation?

No, the spinner works without an external remote control. You control all flight movements directly with your hand via the swing and inclination when launching. To start, simply turn on the button on the housing and turn the rotor manually.

The most frequently asked questions

For beginners, Revell models with skill level 1 or 2 are recommended. Level 1 includes simple plug-in kits without glue, while level 2 requires basic gluing work. These models have fewer components (usually 20-50 parts) and simple color schemes. Experienced model makers should only start at level 3, as this already requires detailed painting and precise gluing work.

The packaging colors show a basic painting for quick results. However, the construction instructions contain detailed color recommendations for authentic, true-to-scale replicas. Professional model makers use the instructions' extended color palette for more realistic results. This enables both beginners to create simple projects and experts to create detailed replicas.

Revell releases new models and new editions of classic kits every month. Around 60-80 new products are released every year, including airplanes, ships, cars and RC models. The list of new products is updated at the beginning of each month. Collectors and enthusiasts should check the Revell webshop regularly, as limited editions often sell out quickly.

Revell invests significantly in product development, precise injection molds and detailed construction instructions. Each model goes through extensive design processes, tool making and quality control according to the EN 71.5 standard. The higher costs result from licensed original artwork, multilingual instructions and the use of high-quality plastics that enable precise details.

You can obtain spare parts for Revell models from official customer service or authorized dealers. Many parts can be reordered individually, although an exact kit number is required. Alternatively, specialized model building communities offer exchanges. For older, no longer produced models, 3D printing services or aftermarket manufacturers can often help.

The basic equipment includes plastic glue, side cutters, files, basic paints (black, white, gray) and brushes of various sizes. Primer, clear coat and detail brushes are recommended for advanced projects. A cutting mat set and good lighting significantly improve the quality of work. Budget beginners can start well with around 50-80 euros.

Revell RC models are differentiated according to age groups. Ready-to-run models are suitable for ages 8 and up, while kit RC models require experience in model building. Adults benefit from expandable systems and tuning options. The skill level marking helps with selection - RC beginners should start with levels 1-2, even as adults.

The Revell range includes over 400 active models, which is challenging for small retailers in terms of inventory and finances. Specialist retailers tend to focus on popular categories or regional preferences. The official Revell web shop offers the full range, while local dealers often allow special orders. Remaining stocks of older models can often be found in specialized model making shops.

We accept product suggestions via the contact form on the website. Successful proposals take into account market potential, licensability and technical feasibility. Keep in mind that developing new models takes 12-24 months. Detailed suggestions with reference material have a higher chance of success, but due to the high volume, not all ideas can be implemented.

All Revell products comply with the European toy standard and are regularly tested for harmful substances. Safety instructions in the construction instructions are mandatory and particularly concern adhesives and paints. Models below skill level 3 are designed for children aged 10 and over, higher levels require supervision or are only recommended for children aged 14 and over. The CE marking confirms conformity.
