- Nature reserves: Driving is almost always strictly forbidden here so as not to disturb animals.
- Shipping routes: On rivers with real shipping traffic (such as the Rhine or Elbe), sailing is often permitted, but is risky because of the current and the waves of large ships.
- Model building clubs: There are often designated lakes by clubs. This is the safest place to launch your boat.
- Private ponds: Of course you can drive here with the owner’s permission.
